Let’s start something…

Really excited about starting this :) About chronicling my musical journey as well as the ones I’m witnessing in my friends. This place in my life is alot of fun because, even though I’ve always been surrounded by music and luckily very musical friends, the calibre of musicianship and the level of success that I’m getting to be witness to in my community is reaching new heights. I feel like I never stop being amazed by how, these days, my favorite artists are becoming more and more close, personal friends. How fun is that? I think its awesome. But beyond that, I want to chronicle the growth in myself musically, and what better way to do that than to post commentaries and videos of the projects that have made the biggest impressions on me? 

For the last week I’ve had so much fun listening to Gotye’s first US release “Making Mirrors.” I’ve been a big fan of Kimbra since I first heard her, so of course when I heard that Gotye’s first US single featured her I lost it! Also, takin the chance to brag on my friends. Last Tuesday, my beautiful boyfriend ET put on the “Can’t Sit Still” SESAC showcase and my god was it a great show. Chaz McKinney, Hudson K, Blackfoot Gypsies, and Ruby Rogers and the Divas rocked my face for an entire evening. :) Posting a video to follow!
